Jon Lewis named three squads on 13th March as the sides head on tour to Australia between 26th March and 15th April. They will play three T20s, three 50-over matches and a four day match while on tour in Australia, as the sides head to Sydney.
In cricket, an over consists of six balls which are delivered (or thrown) by the bowler to a batsman at the opposite end by the wicket. There is a maximum of four overs for each bowler and there are restrictions in place for the fielders which encourage big hits and high scores.
They start the tour with three T20 games between 26th and 30th March at the Hurstville Oval in Sydney. The three 50 over matches will take place between 2nd and 7th April before the four day match rounding off the tour between 12th and 15th April at Cricket Central in Sydney.
Some players to watch would be youngsters Issy Wong and Seren Smale as well as Alice Capsey and Danielle Gibson. Issy Wong and Seren Smale recently announced that both are playing in the summers’ Hundred tournament for London Spirit and Manchester Originals respectively.
Both Alice Capsey and Danielle Gibson featured in the England Ashes squads earlier in the year with Bess Heath and Freya Kemp being selected for all of the format as well as being in the squads for the Ashes in January.
T20:
Twenty20 (which is abbreviated normally to T20) is a short format of cricket. In 2003, it was introduced by the England and Wales cricket board (ECB) as an inter-county competition. In a game, the two sides have one innings each and are restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Australia are currently top in the rankings with England sitting in second.
The Squad: Hollie Armitage (Durham), Georgia Davis (Warwickshire), Mahika Gaur (Lancashire), Jodi Grewcock (Essex), Bess Heath (Durham), Emma Jones (Surrey), Freya Kemp (Hampshire), Ryan’s MacDonald-Gay (Surrey), Charis Pavely (Warwickshire), Grace Potts (Lancashire), Paige Scholfield (Surrey), Grace Scrivens (Essex), Seren Smale (Lancashire), Bryony Smith (Surrey), Alexa Stonehouse (Surrey), Mady Villiers (Durham), Issy Wong (Warwickshire).

50-over (also known as a One Day International):
Typically known as a One Day International (ODI), this format is played by two sides with international status of which the sides play 50 overs and the game can last up to seven hours but it is over within the day. The difference between an ODI and a T20 is that in an ODI both sides establish either a target or chase it but in a T20 game it is designed to be more rapid and intense pace.
The Squad: Hollie Armitage (Durham), Alice Capsey (Surrey), Georgia Davis (Warwickshire), Mahika Gaur (Lancashire), Danielle Gibson (Somerset), Kirstie Gordon (The Blaze), Jodi Grewcock (Essex), Bess Heath (Durham), Emma Jones (Surrey), Freya Kemp (Hampshire), Ryana MacDonald-Gay (Surrey), Charis Pavely (Warwickshire), Grace Potts (Lancashire), Paige Scholfield (Surrey), Grace Scrivens (Essex), Seren Smale (Lancashire), Bryony Smith (Surrey), Alexa Stonehouse (Surrey), Mady Villiers (Durham), Issy Wong (Warwickshire).

Four-day International:
Four day internationals are a little more self explanatory with the games taking place over four days (hence the name). These games help the side achieve an aim at the end of the games and it is easier for fans to watch along. The game is essentially similar to a one day international but across four days.
The Squad: Hollie Armitage (Durham), Alice Capsey (Surrey), Georgia Davis (Warwickshire), Danielle Gibson (Somerset), Kirstie Gordon (The Blaze), Jodi Grewcock (Essex), Bess Heath (Durham), Freya Kemp (Hampshire), Charis Pavely (Warwickshire), Grace Potts (Lancashire), Paige Scholfield (Surrey), Grace Scrivens (Essex), Seren Smale (Lancashire), Alexa Stonehouse (Surrey), Mady Villiers (Durham), Issy Wong (Warwickshire).
