It’s heartbreak for the Saracens as Gloucester Hartpury beat them 34-19 at the StoneX stadium, going on to win the Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR) Cup.

Gloucester Hartpury were looking to become the first three-peat champions, while Saracens were fighting to be the first team to win it four times.

An early try from Gloucester started the game, but Saracens were quick to respond as Jess Breach scored and converted, putting them two points ahead.

The teams continued to be very back and forth, pushing for more points to add to the scoreboard.

Natasha Hunt received a yellow card after dragging down the ball, causing Gloucester to concede a penalty try. Hunt headed to the sin bin for a set ten minutes.

Lotte Sharp powered through the Gloucester defence to score a try, adding another five points onto their lead. Saracens continued pushing to extend their lead.

Gloucester managed to respond to Saracens' threats as Emma Sing scored a try, making it 10-19. It wasn’t long until Mia Venner scored another, slowly bridging the gap between the two sides.

Looking to start off the second half strong, Gloucester pushed through Saracens defence and Alex Matthews scored a try. Unfortunately, this was ruled out as the ball went out of play previously.

But just one minute later Maud Muir smashed through and scored a try, and Emma Sing converted it.

Saracens looked to be getting tired as their play got messy, with Gloucester taking advantage of it and went on to score another try. They led by 27-19.

Gloucester lost another player, as Alex Matthews made her way to the sin bin after her shoulder made contact with a Saracens player’s head.

Soon Gloucester deservedly got their sixth try, and Saracens’ title hope began to fade.

Going from losing 15-19 at the break, to winning 34-19, Gloucester Hartpury lifted the PWR 2024-25 trophy. A stellar performance from the Circus Cherry and Whites!
