Manchester City headed into the Quarter-Final stages of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup with goals from Leila Ouahabi, Kerolin and Bunny Shaw securing a 3-1 win against Leicester at the Joie Stadium.
Manchester City started off brightly as they continued their cup winning form. Aoba Fujino was confident on the right side of the pitch crossing in multiple balls throughout the entirety of the 90 minutes.
Leicester also had chances from Hannah Cain but Manchester City were dominant in the first 45 minutes.
18 minutes in, Spanish defender Leila Ouahabi opened the scoring for the blues after she slid the ball into the bottom left corner with a left footed shot.
Aoba Fujino crossed the ball into Kerolin but her effort was wide before scoring her first goal for Manchester City just 7 minutes later.
Kerolin scored her first goal in sky blue just under 30 minutes into the match after her shot from the left side of the pitch saw the underside of the bar. The ball had slid in after she received the initial ball from England International Jess Park.
Just two minutes later, she was close to getting her second but it deflected off the post and Olivia Clark managed to get her hands to it.
Aoba Fujino, Leila Ouahabi and Mary Fowler all had chances in the final 15 minutes of the first half but the Leicester goalkeeper did well to keep her team within it as the sides went in with City 2-0 up at the break.
