There are many players across Europe this season making a mark on the world’s stage, but one who’s gone under the radar this season is Belgian star and captain Tessa Wullaert.

Currently applying her trade in Italy for giants Inter Milan, she’s no stranger to high-scoring seasons and breaking records. Before joining Inter, she played for Dutch side Fortuna Sittard. Across the two seasons she was there, she made fifty appearances in all competitions. Her goal and assist tallies were even more incredible, racking up a breathtaking fifty-three goals and nineteen assists.

In her first season at Inter, she recorded a combined fourteen goals and assists in twenty-three appearances. However, it was this season where things would get even better….

So far this season, the Belgian has made twenty-one appearances in all competitions and, as it stands currently, has fourteen goals and ten assists, taking her to twenty-four goal and assist contributions. Already beating her previous season’s tally.

In the league alone, she’s made sixteen appearances, starting in all of them, playing an impressive 1379 minutes in total so far. In these sixteen games she’s scored eleven goals and assisted nine, accounting for the bulk of her total contributions this season.

Further to this, she broke history for her beloved Belgium during the last international break. They faced Israel twice, winning both games. Wullaert scored in the first game in a 3-1 win, taking her to ninety-seven international goals, with the sight of one hundred for the next game.

In the reverse fixture, where Belgium won 5-0, the opportunity was there to reach one hundred goals, and Tessa took it by the horns. A spectacular hat-trick saw her become the first Belgian player ever to score one hundred goals for the national side, an achievement that shows the dedication and talent she has and continues to show as seasons go by.

With this impressive season currently leading both goalscoring and assists charts for Serie A Femminile and her achievements this year with her national side already, Wullaert is one to keep an eye out for as Inter look to contest Roma for the title as the season’s end draws ever closer.
