Liverpool have bolstered their goalkeeping ranks by announcing the signing of England international Khiara Keating following the expiration of her Manchester City contract.
Keating joins the Reds having made nine appearances for the Citizens last season, keeping four clean sheets in the process and playing an instrumental role in their league and cup double last season.
In joining Liverpool, she reunites with former City boss Gareth Taylor, who gave Keating her senior debut in a 5-0 league cup win in January 2022 and oversaw her breakout campaign in 23/24, which saw her claim the Golden Glove award at the age of just 19, becoming the youngest goalkeeper in WSL history to win this accolade.
During her City career she made 65 appearances across all competitions, helping the club to three major honours, including the League Cup, WSL and FA Cup in a historic double-winning season.
She becomes the Reds’ fourth summer signing of the transfer window.
Upon joining Liverpool, Keating stated: “Liverpool is such a big club, and I think the women’s team is striving for greatness…”
“I think the style of football that they play suits me and my position. They’re just going in the right direction, and [it is] a project that I want to be part of.” (Quotes via the Liverpool FC website).
